As Vice President of International Marketing, David deMerlier guides brand
development and marketing strategy across Princess Cruises’ growing network of
offices outside its core North American market.

He is responsible for brand positioning, advertising, marketing planning and resource development to support Princess’ expansion throughout Asia, including the launch of

new homeport cruise programs for China, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan. He also consults on product development for these markets, and additionally advises Princess’ teams in other overseas markets on marketing strategies and worldwide best practices.

Before taking his current role in 2013, deMerlier served as Vice President of Marketing for Princess Cruises, overseeing brand management and marketing communications for Princess Cruises and Cunard Line, focusing on North America.. After joining Cunard Line in 2005 as Director of Marketing, deMerlier subsequently added Princess Cruises to his responsibilities in 2007, when he was promoted to his current role as Vice President. Before joining Cunard, he consulted with Princess as Acting Manager of Direct Marketing.

A corporate marketing and advertising professional with more than 25 years of experience on national brands in the travel, media, financial services, and healthcare industries, deMerlier joined Princess from Rives Carlberg (Houston, Texas), where he served as a Director of Strategic Planning. Other past positions include account management and marketing roles at Hill Holliday, Bronner Slosberg Humphrey and Prudential Securities.

A graduate of Northwestern University, deMerlier lives in the Los Angeles area.
