After a short period at Diario Ya in 1988, working as a writer of the economy section, Gabriela Díaz-Guadarmino began her career in the advertising world in 1989, when she joined Lintas Madrid where she worked for brands such as Renault, BBV, El Águila or Nestlé. She also worked during two years in Paris headquarters as the supervisor fo LEVER Europe account.

After three years in Tiempo BBDO as the supervisor of Renault, in 1999 she joined IKEA SPAIN as External Communication Director, taking on all the 360º communication, opening of new stores and also leading different Projects.

In 2007 she was appointed Local Marketing Manager, responsible for the implementation of the international program of marketing management among the store managers.

In 2008 she was appointed permanent member of the Commercial Direction Committees and marketing sub-director, directing a team of 33 people and coordinating work with 10 external agencies. At this point she is responsible of the strategy, development and implementation of all marketing actions. She became Marketing Director of IKEA SPAIN on July 2011, and also leads the company’s Business plan reporting back to the general management.

Among her achievements at IKEA is remarkable her contribution to building a strong, loved and desired brand, becoming a reference in Spanish communication, a model to follow worldwide, developing a great team and leading a change of mentality and ways of working amongst the company to connect better with the consumer

Gabriela Díaz-Guadarmino was born in 1996 in Bilbao; she’s married and has two children. She is graduated from Madrid Complutense University.
