Sandro Boscaini comes from the sixth generation of a winemaking family present in Valpolicella since the XVIII century. In 1978 he was appointed President of Masi Agricola, a company with an active research and innovation programme, even if always within the bounds of tradition, which under his guidance has become a leader in the production of Amarone with its products available in 97 countries worldwide.

Active in the political and promotional aspects of quality Italian wines for many years, one of Sandro Boscaini’s many public roles is as President of Federvini, the most important Italian trade organisation for producers of wine, spirits and vinegar with offices at national, EC and international levels.

Boscaini is the ambassador of Venetian culture and values to the world, not only through his wines, but also through the Masi Foundation, which he himself established and which has recognised regionally and internationally important personalities with the Masi Prize for more than thirty years.

Boscaini has received numerous honours, including the title Commendatore della Repubblica Italiana. Under his leadership, Masi too has received many awards, including acclamation as “European Winery of the Year” by the prestigious international magazine “Wine Enthusiast” in 2004.

Boscaini’s love for the Veneto’s most princely product has also gained him the nickname“Mister Amarone”, which is also the title of an internationally distributed book about his career.
